National Sorority, Inc. as part of your collegiate experience.
Sigma Lambda Gamma provides young women with the leadership,
academic, and social skills needed to have a successful college
experience. Additionally, our members are exposed to diversity
and educated about moral & political issues which enable
them to function in our pluralistic society. We provide our
members with the opportunity to develop leadership abilities
by working with local business owners, writing proposals, developing
budgets, securing funding, and doing publicity for the various
programs we put forth throughout the year. Our sisters also
work together with other community members to plan events that
are beneficial to the Carbondale community. We hold our sisters
to high academic standards by ensuring that they receive academic
assistance from professors, advisors, and other campus resources.
With
a nationwide membership of over 3,000 sisters, our members are
given the opportunity to network with other college women from
campuses across the country. Both undergrads and alumnae serve
as a resource for career and academic advice.
